Trump’s plans to increase access to IVF treeatments are in the news cycle:

Trump is right that we need to raise birth rates.
He is dead wrong to encourage the use of IVF to do it.
The way IVF is normally carried out results in dead babies. IVF kills more babies each year than abortion.
To restore birth rates, we need a restoration of marriage, family, and sexual morality; a stronger economy with better jobs for men; lower inflation; more affordable housing; and probably better overall health (food and environmental toxins seem to be making natural fertility more difficult).
If we need more babies, why not encourage adoption? Why not find ways to bring adoption costs down? Why not encourage “snowflake adoption,” since millions of IVF babies already exist in cold storage?
Encouraging IVF might not raise birth rates at all. It could easily encourage women to ignore their natural fertility window, putting off marriage and children, thinking they can just use IVF later on while they pursue partying and careers in the meantime. Trump’s IVF plan does not encourage the right kind of life-plan for women.
Trump has done much for the pro-life cause, which I appreciate, but this is seriously misguided.
