Anti-whiteness is a real problem. Some of it comes from self-loathing progressive whites. Some of it comes from people of other ethnicities and races who are – to use the old-fashioned term – racists against whites. A lot of anti-whiteness is actually a proxy war against historic Western/Christian civilization.
But many attempts to push back on anti-whiteness are not going to help. Claims like “America was founded by whites and should always be white only” or White Boy Summer stuff that celebrates Nazism are not going to be the answer.
I keep going back to Charlie Kirk. Charlie said everything young men need to hear today, built a huge following, and never talked about whiteness that I can recall. He did not peddle to the victim mindset; instead, he was constructive, calling on young men to find Jesus, go to church, get married, raise families, and work hard. He pointed the way forward – a pathway to success that doesn’t even require college. Racial identity politics was never part of his package – in fact, he opposed it.
I also think of Jeremy Carl’s fine book “The Unprotected Class,” which does a great job cataloging all the ways whites are actively discriminated against, but never resorts to white identity politics, even when giving solutions.
Trump won the presidency 2 or 3 times without doing white identity politics. Why replace “make America great again” with “make America white again”? I just can’t see that succeeding. I realize a lot of the far right has already moved on from Trump in disgust, but there is a lot to learn from him about how to succeed in electoral politics. It would be foolish to ignore those lessons, even if Trump has come up short in a lot of areas.
Saying “America should be white” hits very differently even than Doug Wilson’s infamous line “we need more white babies” – at least the latter is more positive framing, calling on people to get married and raise families. It appeals to something constructive instead of mere anger and victimhood. The future belongs to the fertile, so any white interested in “saving” whiteness should be getting married and having lots of babies.
The battle against anti-whiteness is not going to be won on screens. It’s going to be won by real world virtue, community, and family. The kinds of political changes that need to be made – ending DEI, securing the border, deporting those here illegally – are simple matters of justice.
I’ve written and spoken about this many other places so I won’t harp on it any further here, but just note that racial identity politics, whether from the right or the left, from blacks, whites, or anyone else, is never going to be the solution. Whites in America have higher rates of illegitimacy and fatherlessness than blacks did just a couple generations ago. The black identity movement made things worse rather than better for blacks. Why should whites go down a path that is proven to fail?
